Intriguing story, but ends in cliff hanger!

Saw this advertised on FB. The ad lets you read several chapters which, I admit, was interesting and intriguing so clicked on the link. That's when I found myself on one of those reading apps (goodnovels.com). You know the ones - they release a chapter a week and you have to earn "credits" to get it (which takes forever). Oh, you can buy credits, but by the time you've bought enough to read the entire book you've spent $60-$100 bucks. Yeah, not doing that!

I knew that author's contracts with those type apps/companies differ. Most are exclusive for only a year or so. So I did some research and found the ebook on Amazon for $9.98. Usually, I don't spend that much on ebooks, but I was already too far invested in this story so I bought it. (Strangely enough it's not longer available in ebook format on Amazon (only print for $19.98), but you can find a PDF version to download elsewhere.

The story did not disappoint. It gets better the further you get into it. The plot is interesting, but somehow, in a strange way, the more that is revealed, the more you learn about the mystery surrounding the h, the more intriguing it becomes because it only adds more mystery and questions. All the significant characters have depth and are multi-layered, more than they appear to be in the beginning.

Sadly, Ezra and Katya's story does not end with this book. I wrongly thought this was a stand-alone story in this series with subsequent books in this world dealing with different couple. But No, this one "ends" in a doosey of a cliffhanger. Not only do we still not know or understand the full extent of Katya's gift/curse, but we discover that she's not the only one with a cursed affliction. Apparently Ezra has a secret of his own dealing with a moon curse, you just need to read book two to find out what exactly it is. Also, it appears Ezra's Beta (Matteo) may end up mated to Katya too. This is an RH story (reverse harem for those who don't know what that is). (Book #2 is titled Fated to the Beta.)

So, will I read book #2. It is currently available in print (paperback) format on Amazon for $21.98. No, I won't pay that much, but I do love Matteo and i'm dying to know what Ezra's moon curse is and how that will affect Katya's gift/curse and how her's will affect his. So I will keep doing my research and waiting until I can acquire this book cheaper.

Be forwarned, there are a few editing error. A couple of incorrect words, times when two different tenses (past and present) ate used in the same sentence. And twice wherei had absolutely no clue what word the author intended, such as this gem:

"One hand moves underneath my shirt, caressing my s. Youh."

What the heck is "s. Youh"????? The other time this happened it was an even bigger jumbled mix of nonsense. Thankfully, this only happened twice. In spite of these errors, my interest was engaged sufficiently to keep me reading. Looking forward to when I can get book #2.

Facebook sucked me in guys! Horrible grammar and typos! Great plot. Nice spice. The storyline kept me hooked, but it’s unfinished. Loved the characters and would love to read a thoroughly edited and completed version. If you can find for free I would say go for it but not worth paying the asking price with all the typos.

I was enjoying this book but it was going to cost way too much on this app.

That is where I was able to read the first 190 chapters for free, thanks to another review here on Goodreads. I am bummed I don't know how it ends but I have some theories. This is a wonderful story that could have used two things: serious editing and published on Amazon. I quite enjoyed it though!

So this series I definitely enjoyed reading. Of course I read it on Goodnovels. But I think this will be the last of the books I read using this app. Like others to continue reading one has to spend money. The amount spent trying to read these books is more then actually buying the books 🙄.

Found this book through a Facebook Ad. Would not mind purchasing the book but like HELL am I paying per chapter - you’d have $50 in 1 book.

What I could read I’d enjoyed. HOWEVER as long as it’s an app forget it.

Author should publish on an actual platform with a good editor - good potential but these apps are glorified fan fiction that you pay to read. No editing, polishing of the story before posting.

Just like another reader, I saw this book on FB. I read the first 9 chapters once I downloaded the app. I'm not paying an app a lot of money to read one book. It was a good story line, barring the grammatical errors. I'd read it if it was on Kindle. I'm sad I can't read the rest. Just like another reader, I saw this book on FB. Found it on one of those ads on FB. The writing is not the greatest, kinda like reading a fanfiction. The one word that comes to mind when I read it was "makjang". Makjang is a term they use for dramas that are over the top, or exaggerated dramas. Pretty much a bunch of tropes all mishmashed together. I saw this story in a FB ad and the plot just drew me in right away. With the title and character names I searched and it brought me to Goodreads. I realised it's one of those online novels where readers pay and get to read chapters as they're published. I've read a couple of such Chinese web novels but I only ever read completed stories because I hate cliffhangers let alone unfinished stories!

I was grateful to other reviewers mentioning the story could be read for free on Gaman

No doubt the plot is gripping but the rest of the book sucks. It's almost like a book for teachers to teach common English and grammatical errors. Everything that could go wrong went wrong. I lost count how many time to/too/two & your/ you're are used wrongly...Character names are spelled wrongly...Numbers and letters can be used interchangeably. I even saw 'publically' and 'dieing'! And almost all plurals are made with "'s"! A nightmare for Grammar Nazis.

It's almost like a machine providing transcripts ehile the writer spoke and the writer just published the transcripts without bothto read through, proofread for the most basic errors!

Someone calculated that to read the full novel paying by chapters it'd cost more than $100! The best novels in paperback only cost around $10 so it's a real rip off to read such stories. Ot must be making the writers lots of money!

I zipped through chapters 1 to 124 in 2 or 3 days and that's really the story if Kat, Ezra and Mateo. From chapter 125 to 16x it's mainly about Andrei and Sage, and we get glimpses of KEM's HEA as they deal with new parenthood. Kat can be a mean b!tch when hormonal...

I've only read up to chp 163 because that's all that's available so far. Not sure if I'll continue to read because it's starting to get draggy...

I found that Mateo is the heart of the story sharing his love and devotion to Ezra wit Katya. Ezra and Katya grow the most through out the trials of the book and Mateo adds to their growth with humor, support, devotion and love. The book needs editing but should be brought to publish as several books. I stopped at chapter 125 because another story advancing the tale of this world began. The story reads well. It contains some graphic violence and sex. There is M/M and M/F/M sex but in the context of the world the author creates it seemed appropriate. I would buy this book if it comes out in a different format as a whole digital book and not as a serial with chapters posting. ...more

The story was just getting good with the possible poisoning of Katya. Making wonder how the heck anyone got the wolfbane to her between her detention and being on time for training. And then poof just like a nasty trick you can't read anymore.
If you get to download this, Lucky you, and maybe the story is worth it.
If like me you feel CHEATED and can't for the life of you figure out how to get the book and read it then maybe we should just boycott everything from this author and this website.
It gets ONE star for a good intro and being too damn difficult to get.

Not the best, but definitely not the worst. Written by what who I assume to be a non-American native English speaker, because the copy I read used a lot of "mum" and "bloody" which is distinctly not American. Now the version I read, included Andrei x Sage and Marabella x Kyan x Jonah. Not sure if this is originally included in this book, but I will be reviewing as such. There are 287 chapters, by the way. Katya
Five years after her wolf was supposed to appear, Katya is still very human and ostracized by the rest of the pack. She can't understand why she, daughter of the only female werewolf warrior and the pack's Beta, can't be normal and have a wolf like everyone else. Days away from her eighteenth birthday, Tabitha, Alpha Jackson's daughter, harasses her again and this time, her mother snaps and slaps her across her face. To avoid punishment and further disdain from the pack, Katya's mother and father run to Alpha Ezra's pack, the only one that can rival Jackson. But Alpha Jackson isn't done with her yet. At first, it seems like her old pack want to punish her for laying a hand on the Alpha's daughter, but why is Alpha Jackson so desperate to get Katya back?

Alpha Ezra is still waiting for his mate, and he thinks he might have found her with his pack's latest additions. Taking away Alpha Jackson's Beta and only female warrior is a huge boon, so their daughter must be just as amazing. His wolf, Maddox, has already identified Katya as his mate, and it'll only be a few more days before he can take Katya for himself.

I mean intriguing plot, was kinda invested in how Katya's story would end, hence me continuing to read all of this. I find the mating dynamic interesting. We get provided a lot of backstory about the creation of the wolves and how the packs work. It's very focused on pack life and Katya, so we don't see a lot of how they interact with pure humans. Overall a great introduction. (view spoiler)[Not usually an avid devourer of throupling but the balance between Katya, Ezra, and Mateo is honestly really wholesome and it works. (hide spoiler)]

Sage
Beaten, broken, battered Sage and her wolf Sierra have suffered for years at the hands of the rogues who kidnapped her, killed her father, and raped and beat her mother to death. Wary of any male interaction, especially from other werewolves, Sage doesn't know why she feels safe and desire for the handsome Alpha Andrei, even when her instincts tell her to run and hide from him.

Unbeknownst to her, Alpha Andrei has gained a dark reputation as a rogue killer, after the war decimated his pack. When he encounters Sage, he realizes she could be his mate. Impossible, since his own mate died in the war. In denial and busy trying to rebuild his pack, Andrei doesn't want to acknowledge Sage as his mate. Especially with several rogue camps being spotted near his borders, and Andrei can't forgive the ones who took away his happiness.

Meanwhile, Katya is still coming to terms with the truths she learned about herself and her family. It's a time for change and old curses to be broken, and to do that, she needs to show her strength to the other alphas of the other packs. Katya is a Luna now, an Alpha Female, and she intends to show the conservative bigots what that means.

What can I say, what can I say. Sage is actually a great character. She adds more to this world built upon communal pack dynamic, by introducing the life of rogue wandering wolves. Katya and Sage work to break the misogynistic view of the packs and the alphas, especially after the war against the Jackson pack. We see healing, we see growth, and we see change.

Marabella
It's not easy being the daughter of a Moon Goddess with a golden twin brother Eziah and two powerful wolf fathers. Everyone, even her family, fears her power to kill with a single touch. All Marabella wants to do is be free, without worrying about everyone's reactions and see how they feel about her. No one notices how much she suffers, and she has no one she can share her burdens with; she doesn't even have a wolf yet! But, she does have one light in her life, her adopted cousin Jonah. He's the only one who doesn't treat her like a freak and seems to see her for what she truly is, just a quiet curious girl tired of being the literal black sheep of the family. She can't wait for her wolf to appear, to hopefully be Jonah's destined mate, and to be finally free.

Years after his father sacrifices himself to save Marabella, Kyan struggles with his feelings. He hates that she's the reason his father is dead, but he still loves her. After all, she is his destined mate. He's been trying to avoid seeing her and loving her for years, to no avail, because he's seen what he does to her. He's seen what his Lycan, Kiaf, will do to her when he mates her. And he refuses to let the life his father saved, end like that.

This story expands on the witchy and curse-y side of the werewolf world. We see our favorite characters years after the events of their own love story, but in a different light; as parents! We see how those events affect this new generation, and we see how love really does conquer all.

Gotta say though, this one's the least interesting of the three stories. Cute conclusion, but that's all the emotional attachment I have. I just think it's cute.

Pretty good

I found this author on Facebook and was intrigued. I was happy that she finally came to Amazon so I could have one whole book to read. The other app is really frustrating as it only releases a chapter or two a day. It so much better to be able to read her works all together.

There are just so many secrets behind main girl's family that it got ridiculous and I could no longer take the story seriously. I could tell early this was going to be an angsty read and it's just not what I'm after right now.

I work as a ghostwriter and edit sometimes, and I was asked to edit/do some rewriting for books that go on webnovel apps. I've also read a few (the sample chapters and what I could using free coins because I am not paying for an unedited story. I've spent $100 to read serials before, on a certain website where you have access to a bunch of updating and completed stories for several months, but they were actually well written so it was worth it.) These stories all seem to follow the same formula.
They (most of them) start with the female lead being an outcast but of course there's a secret in her past/future and she's actually someone really important. The werewolf books are all the same, the CEO books are all the same, and on and on. They're like crack candy or something no matter how bad the story gets you just want to know what happens next, but eventually I got tired. I stopped around ch 40s and skinned over chapters to about 170s I think. While I do want to know the ending, I don't care enough about this story to actually read it further. I can appreciate plot in my romance, but if both the plot and the romance is too ridiculous, I just can't read on. I hate giving up on stories without knowing the ending, but if I don't give up here I know this book will just continue to stress me out.
