Kiko milano skin tone concealer review

Looking for an affordable concealer that is hydrating, light coverage, natural and lightweight on the skin? Then look no further, because the Kiko Skin Tone concealer may be one nobody talks about but it has quickly become one of my favorite concealers. Granted, the product doesn’t come with a lot of product, but it is a good one that I think I will repurchase the next time I set foot in a Kiko store. Here’s why!

Review: Kiko Milano Skin Tone concealer 02 Ivory

I bought this product because I knew I wanted to do a full face of Kiko. I liked quite a few of their products and I felt like I should branch out and try some products I hadn’t yet bought from the brand. So a concealer was high on my shopping list. I love trying concealers and foundations because my dry, dehydrated skin doesn’t like just anything. And if the product I find is affordable to boot, then I am even happier. So when I found that Kiko Milano does a €5.99 concealer in 12 different shades, I was intrigued enough to give it a go.

What does this concealer have to offer?

In terms of concealer I am not too demanding. I don’t like anything too high coverage or thick as my fine lines around my eyes and mid-30s skin just doesn’t love that look. Any very famous concealer I have tried has usually not worked quite well for me as it was just too thick and cakey. So I like something lightweight, hydrating and natural looking. And that’s exactly what this concealer promises to do! It comes in a bunch of skin tone shades, but it also comes in some correcting shades if that is what you were looking for.

How does this concealer swatch?

I was very happy to see and feel this concealer when I first tried it. The texture is super fresh and lightweight. Once blended into the skin this pretty much disappears and it is great for creating that no makeup makeup look that I love. The applicator takes some getting used to. Yes, that is a regular doe foot you see in the pictures, but it actually has a rolling effect which I actually find very handy for applying the concealer on larger areas such as my nose, forehead and chin. The texture feels very hydrating and I feel this never looks heavy or cakey on my skin.

How does this concealer apply to the skin?

Here you can see what this concealer does. The top picture is my skin without concealer. The middle one is where the concealer is first applied which I think shows off the formula quite well: you can see it has glow as well as a sheerness to it. That is what I am looking for in a concealer! In the bottom picture you can see the effect this concealer gives once I blend it out. As you can see, there is some coverage here, but my under eye still looks like skin. My under eyes look less dark and much brighter and most of the redness has disappeared. This is the kind of effect I like my concealer to have: it’s not heavy and it looks great all day. It lasts so well and even on super long days, this has really stood the test of time and it never looks like too much.

My final thoughts

Kiko milano skin tone concealer review

The Kiko Skin Tone concealer is an unexpected favorite product in my makeup collection. The only downside? How much product you get as there is just 3 mls of product in this little tube. So it doesn’t last a long time as to how much product you get. That said, I would repurchase this in a heartbeat. This is such a great, easy to use concealer. The applicator took some getting used to, but now that I have used it daily for a few weeks, I have found it is actually quite ingenious. Yes, there is not that much that I can fault this product for. Unless you love a full coverage concealer that is, because this concealer is not that.

Would I recommend the Kiko Skin Tone concealer?

Yes! Yes! Yes! This is one that if you love a natural concealer like I do, this is a musthave to try. At just €5.99 this concealer is one I feel the makeup world has slept on and I am super happy I was able to find this. It is such a good one that just sees me through many different things. If I find a concealer this affordable, that is this easy to wear and never looks or feel cakey, then it’s a keeper in my book.
