Over the Garden Wall blu-ray Reddit

Hi, since I didn't find a post about this, thought I'd point out that the blu ray has much brighter colors when compared to other sources, such as the youtube video of episode 1.Of course, the bluray preserves details much better since it has a much higher bitrate, but I don't know if it's worse the (in my opinion) inferior colors. They kinda ruin the show's atmosphere to me, even though they do let more details show.Here's a comparison between the bluray and youtube from episode 1.

Edit: Forgot to ask, which version do you prefer? Maybe it's just me who prefers other sources over the blu-ray

It seems to be quite the controversy. Amazon sells products that claim to be region free, many users review that it is NOT such, while other reviewers claim it worked on their US bd players. Looks like there's never been an official blu ray release for Region A unfortunately.

It's likely that this is due to the exclusive streaming contract in the US with Hulu for this show. They frequently put restrictions on physical releases to promote streaming memberships in their licensing contracts.

Nice, could you tell me, is there a "play all" feature and does it auto play to the next episode or play the credits in full?

I want to rent out a theater and watch the whole thing but need to verify there's a way to play every episode without having to mess with menus. Thanks!

I saw that recently too. I dont see any other indication of a pending US blu-ray release. I've grown very skeptical of Amazon lately, they have no interest in controlling all the different versions of their media, and piracy and fraud is rampant. You have to be really careful not to end up with pirated discs, etc.

Pat McHale has said in the past that it's unlikely to happen since it's already on Hulu. The same was said about Gravity Falls however, so I'm hoping things turn out the same way for OTGW- a Blu-Ray collector's edition with tons of special features and bonus content.

I've never been entirely clear what's so special about blu ray (it doesn't help that i only just got a dvd player which supports blu ray), please could someone tell me what makes blu ray better?

It's really just about image quality. It'll be in 780p or 1080p instead of 480p on a DVD.
Of course you would need to have a TV that is at least 720p and a Blu-ray player.

Does the UK import of Over the Garden Wall work on an America Reigon Xbox? I've not had issues with Reigon B copies of movies (Only one movie was reigon locked that I've bought) and I don't want to waste money getting it if it doesn't work.

It’s region free so you’ll have no issues. You can always check region coding on Blu-Ray.com if you’re worried about it.
