We are thrilled to welcome you back to our in-person event after two long years! Your favorite distances have returned; from the Half Marathon to the 1 Mile Fun Run, we’ve got you covered. In-person events include a Half Marathon, 10K, 5k Timed Run, 5K Fitness Run/Walk, and a 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk that journeys into the back of the Zoo! Organized by the New Mexico BioPark Society (NMBPS), this event was started in 1985. Since then, Run for the Zoo has become one of Albuquerque's most cherished events Run for the Zoo is a fundraiser that directly contributes to NMBPS' mission of "Making the exceptional possible at the ABQ BioPark." I would recommend keeping an on-line or virtual option available for people like me who hate to deal with crowds of people. I enjoyed the past two years as a participant. I probably will not participate if it is not available to do it on your own. I signed up for the full marathon. I am a walker and I logged 38.5 miles during the 8 days of the Run for the Zoo this year. 1/1 found this review helpful.
