The tranquil and warm waters of the Far North, plays host to the most scenic harbour crossings on the yearly swim calendar. Consisting of six different swim events, the Beach to Bay Swim provides an ocean swim event for all ages and abilities. – The 3.3km Beach to Bay is the premier event of the day and is guaranteed to leave you in awe as you leave one of new Zealands most stunning beaches. This event has been bought back by popular demand and is is a great way to view the beautiful scenery and mix up you day. The Beach to Bay Relay Marathon is the United States’ largest six-person relay race. The race attracts runners from all over the Great State of Texas, United States, Mexico and Canada. Past celebrity, competitors include Texas Governor, Rick Perry, State Representative, Abel Herrero, former Naval Air Station Captain, Paula Hinger and former Corpus Christi Mayor, Honorable Loyd Neal. 2021 will mark the 45th year of that the Beach to Bay Relay Marathon will honor “Armed Forces Day”. Remember The Beach to Bay Relay Marathon is a Six-Person Relay Running Event. Teams must consist of six (6) runners. Each runner will run on only one (1) team and will run one (1) leg only for that team. No one can run on two (2) teams at any time. (No one can run an additional leg for any team, in this instance you and your team will be disqualified) All members of each team eligible for awards are subject to verification by race officials prior to the awards ceremony. The race director and or race official may disqualify anyone for cheating or not adhering to these rules. Baby Strollers/Dogs We apologize but due to the Beach to Bay Relay Marathon’s insurance provider, baby strollers and/or dogs are not permitted in the race, so please do not bring them. Alcohol As per City of Corpus Christi Ordinance-No Alcoholic Beverages will be allowed in McCaughan Park. Rest easy, Beer will be on-hand at McCaughan Park for the After Race Party. Applications This is a biggie, there are is NO drop-off point for entries, and they must be mailed by the proper deadline. Buses/Race Day Transportation Please remember that the shuttle buses are a courtesy. As with all public transportation, buses run on a schedule, please do not show up late and expect to be given a ride. Parents of minor children running the Beach to Bay Relay Marathon are welcome to ride along. Please remember that there is no transportation to McCaughan Park for the After Race Party. Payment via Credit Card for Race Entry If credit card payment is disputed through a credit card charge back that you originate you and your team members will be removed from the current race and any future Beach to Bay Relay Marathons until the matter is resolved. This includes and is not limited to any other Corpus Christi Roadrunner (CCRR) events and any other CCRR participated events. Inclement Weather In the event of inclement or bad weather please, be assured that your safety is always first on our minds. As with most running or outdoor events, if lighting is present at the start of the race, the race may be delayed. If the race is underway, and inclement weather arrives (post of the start) the Beach to Bay Relay Marathon will continue. Remember to feel comfortable in your decision concerning bad weather. How long is Beach to Bay?Approximately 2,600 teams totaling over 16,000 runners compete each year. The Beach to Bay Relay Marathon is a six-person relay running event that totals 26.2 miles of beach, pavement, a little sweat, an occasional tear and a bunch of smiles.
How long is Beach to Bay marathon in Corpus Christi?Participants can run the 26.2-mile course three different ways, either as a relay of six runners, a relay of two runners, or one runner completing the full marathon. Leg 1 will begin at JP Luby Beach, South of Zahn Road, and end at Packery Channel Park (4.99 miles).
