However, you can find out which of the two 108 MP phones will be ahead in the end and thus offers the best camera package for under 300 Euros (~$361) in our test. The Redmi Note 10 Pro and the realme 8 Pro are certainly two of the most exciting mid-range smartphones of the year, because both mid-range phones offer a variety of premium features. That already starts with the camera setup. Both main cameras of the quad-cam setups are reportedly based on the 1/1.52-inch Samsung ISOCELL HM2 with a resolution of 108 MP - but by default, the 9-in-1 binning technology saves photos with 12 MP and 2.1-μm pixels. We will take a closer look at which of the two manufacturers has the better camera software using various photo subjects and light situations. All pictures in this comparison are taken with the help of artificial intelligence. The camera settings are left in the respective factory state. The Redmi Note 10 Pro renders subjects visibly brightened with the 108 MP camera, especially as soon as the light source shines from the front. The realme 8 Pro has the better contrasts in the pictures in comparison. However, the mid-range phone from realme exaggerates the color saturation. Green tones in particular look unnaturally bright - the Xiaomi phone reproduces our subjects much more realistically. We also see advantages for the Redmi Note 10 Pro in terms of image sharpness, especially in the peripheral areas. The picture is similar in portrait mode. The realme 8 Pro is rich in contrast, but the blur transitions in our kitten are less successful than with the Redmi Note 10 Pro.  The Redmi Note 10 Pro also convinces with natural colors in the ultra-wide-angle lens. Quite the opposite of the realme 8 Pro, which has a clear red cast in the photos. In addition, the realme smartphone shows many image errors. When the 108 MP lens is used for recording zoom shots, a similar color management can be seen. While the Xiaomi phone can come up with comparatively realistic colors, the 8 Pro shows our subject visibly too warm. In return, the sharpness is slightly better in the pictures taken with the realme phone. Pictures taken in low light are visibly more dynamic with the Redmi Note 10 Pro than with the realme model. Both smartphones reveal a pronounced soft focus in the pictures as early as at dusk and many details blur into each other. The noise level is higher in the 8 Pro. Night pictures of both the Redmi Note 10 Pro and realme 8 Pro reveal the expected weaknesses of mid-range phones in the dark. Useful results can hardly be achieved with them. If the lenses are used for ultra-wide-angle shots in the dark, hardly any usable results are possible. The Redmi Note 10 Pro offers a bit more detail and less blur, but on a low quality level. When there is a lot of light, we like the pictures taken with the front camera of the realme 8 Pro a bit better. The selfies are a bit over-sharpened, but they look contrasty and are a bit less blurred than on the Redmi Note 10 Pro. Bokeh effects are on a satisfactory level in both smartphones. The realme 8 has deficits in terms of color management, and the realme model cannot quite keep up with the Redmi Note 10 Pro in low-light photography.
