Although Pasha didn’t star in The Hobbit physically, he voiced the central character of Bilbo Baggins in the Ukrainian dub.

In fact, he voiced the character in all three of the Ukrainian entries of the trilogy.

So, those who have watched the Ukrainian dub of the movies will be more than familiar with his voice. As for those who have seen the original versions, you won’t find his work in the films as you know them.

The character of Bilbo in the standard version (without dub) is played and voiced by Martin Freeman.

Looking back over the 33-year-old actor’s career, he appeared as early as 2006 in horror-thriller movie The Pit (he played Den).

Other film roles include Zvychayna sprava (DJ), Tini nezabutykh predkiv. Tayemnytsi molfara (Vova), #Selfieparty (Cop), The Fight Rules (Dyzel), and Zustrich odnoklasnykiv (Kostya).

More recently, he was in 2021 TV series Provincial. However, Ukrainian audiences perhaps best know him as host of the show Day At Home.

The Hobbit wasn’t his only dubbing gig either – he also lent his voice to a Ukrainian dub of 1994 Disney classic The Lion King.

What happened to Pasha Lee?

Pasha Lee, full name Pavlo Romanovych Lee, was killed on Sunday, March 6th 2022.

He died in shelling by Russian forces of Irpin, a city west of Ukraine capital Kyiv. Lee joined the Territorial Defence Force of Ukraine the week before his passing, The Wrap reports.

At least four civilians were killed during the conflict close to the bridge at Irpin.

Lee was active on social media and posted a photo of himself on March 5, 2022, in which he was wearing military gear.

It was captioned: “For the last 48 hours there is an opportunity to sit down and take a picture of how we are being bombed, and we are smiling because we will manage and everything will be UKRAINE WE ARE WORKING."

He also took to Instagram to share resources for helping Ukrainian refugees across the world.
