02/8What was the turning point?

Honestly, I have been leading quite an unhealthy lifestyle for the longest time. While I didn’t feel bad about my looks, I have been trying to change my habits.

I've tried to go through the weight loss process multiple times in my life, but this was the one try which proved to be successful. I just approached it in a smarter manner this time, got help from a certified coach, worked out harder, ate smarter. Once you see that progress for yourself, there will be no going back.

My breakfast: I just have egg whites

My lunch: Something like chicken breast, a small portion of rice and a serving of salad (usually cucumber)

My dinner: Usually the same as my lunch, chicken breast (or paneer) with rice and salad.

Pre-workout meal: Peanut butter sandwich/ A banana/ Oats/ Granola/ Almond milk.

Post-workout meal: Whey protein

I indulge in (What you eat on your cheat days): Anything and everything! I am a foodie and nothing can change that. Just try to eat your foods in moderation and you will be fine.

05/8Fitness secrets I unveiled

Frankly speaking, there are no shortcuts to weight loss. You have to cover the whole yard. I can speak this from experience, you can try different diets, routines but only when you do it holistically, gain knowledge, will you see the real difference.

How do I stay motivated? If you continue to see your progress every day, it is hard to not be motivated. So, I just make sure I make sure some kind of progress every day. Small steps go a big way.

How do you ensure you don’t lose focus? Having a trained, qualified coach can make all the difference. I have been blessed to be trained under Mr Shashank Singh, who is a WBFF International Athlete. Once you train under someone who has that level of focus himself, you adopt the same habit.

06/8What's the most difficult part about being overweight?

As they say, you are never the best version if you aren't healthy enough. Anything and everything you do is directly affected by how you feel about yourself. It's important to get into a routine. Once you start grinding hard, sweat it out, ensure proper rest, recovery and see results, you need to keep at it...weight loss shouldn't be a half-done job.

Also, make sure you are satisfied and assess your performance. If you aren't happy with your progress, you won't be able to go as far as you are meant to go.

07/8What shape do you see yourself 10 years from now?

I want to keep my fat percentage around 10-15%, build good muscles, feel healthier and better than ever.

What are the lifestyle changes you made?

Disciplined lifestyle made the biggest difference. I started to eat right, sleep well, worked out regularly. I also stopped eating food from outside, hired a cook to prepare my meals the exact way (and quantity) I was supposed to consume.

What was the lowest point for you?

Actually, I never really felt bad about my physique. I have always been confident about my looks or never thought how I look makes a difference to how I feel.

Having said that, even though I didn’t feel bad about following an unhealthy lifestyle, I surely felt 100 times more amazing when I was my healthy, confident self!

Can I lose weight just eating chicken and rice?

Sure, rice and chicken is good for weight loss, but choosing the right kinds and preparation methods can take you that much further on your weight loss journey. Just be sure to switch things up every now and then for optimal nutrition.

How much weight can you lose on the chicken and rice diet?

Advocates of the rice, chicken and apple diet say that you can lose as much as 20 lbs. in nine days. This is not a realistic expectation. Few people use even 3,000 calories a day and it takes a calorie deficit of 3,500 to lose just one pound of weight.

How does the chicken and rice diet work?

Two nutrients proven to aid weight loss are protein and fiber. Chicken is high in protein and brown rice is a rich source of fiber, so including these two foods in your diet can help you lose weight but only if your total calorie intake is balanced.
